Spiritual prompt

Doctrine and Covenants 1:24 23 That the fulness of my gospel might be proclaimed by the weak and the simple unto the ends of the world, and before kings and rulers.
“God speaks to us in our own language so we can understand. Good communication requires us to know who we are speaking to and how to speak in a way they can understand.”

After Jesus Christ restored His church on this earth, God began to send revelations through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Many of these revelations contained valuable truths and principles that men should abide by. One of these principles is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.

My father was born in Mexico City, and he was only fourteen years old when he met two young men called “Elders” who were teaching about Christ and His teachings. In his own words, “I was given a copy of The Book of Mormon in Spanish, and I started reading right away. The book was light, and the pages were thin and smelled like new. Reading through it made me feel something strong within my chest.”

Just like my father, many children of God around the world, have receive the truth of The Gospel of Jesus Christ in their hearts because it has been given to them in their own language, in simple terms that they can understand. When Jesus Christ Himself walked the earth, he touched the hearts of many because He understood their culture and how to speak them. He was able to socialize with the Jews and The Gentiles: audiences with different needs, concerns, challenges, and circumstances; And yet, Jesus knew how to talk to them.

God speaks to us in out own language and own understanding so we can receive the good news of His Gospel.
